The Buffet

I was so happy I was finally able to have dinner with an old friend of mine, a classmate in high school, Yuyun. We managed to do it before we were occupied by tonnes of work and while Jakarta was still free of traffic.

We decided to go to Plaza Semanggi. Firstly, we went to check out the Sky Dining at the roof top. Yes, it would probably be a romantic venue at night with all the lights from skyscrapper building, but at 5 pm, it certainly looked like an ordinary food court :) We knew we'd be going to The Buffet so we were heading there.

The Buffet, located at the 5th floor, offers variety of food from Chinese, Indonesian, Japanese and Italian. So you could find capcay, nasi kebuli, udang mayonaise, pizza, nachos, teppanyaki, etc. They have also soup, fruit, dessert and ice cream. Well, you name it! Some of the food is really good, such as udang mayonaise, nasi goreng hijau and oseng buncis with minced beef. The others are standard. The chicken satay is not my favorite because the peanut sauce tastes like peanut butter to me :(

The charge was about Rp. 180K in total for both of us including a free refill iced tea. Tax and service charge itself was about Rp. 32K. A bit expensive but certainly cheaper than buffet at the four or five star hotel.
