Sate Afrika

Many of you asked me about this place. Sate Afrika. If it's your first time to visit, you'd better ask to be accompanied by someone who's been here before unless you know where the Museum Textile or KS Tubun Road is. There are few tricks and tips for this place, such as where to park so you don't get trapped in the traffic jam, what to order and how much:)

We chose this place for (another informal) farewell for a colleague in our office last Thursday. Always having lots of memories and jokes here. There were nine of us, including the Chief Commander (y'all know who he is, I don't have to mention his name:). I'll tell you the procedure, firstly you have to place an order for the Sate in advance. I made a phone call at 10 am in the morning and ordered 5 portions for nine persons. We all knew that we're gonna order 2-3 portions more later when we were eating. Secondly, be prepared for an unforgettable dining experience.

We arrived there around 11.45 am and the place was full. Fortunately we didn't have to wait for a long time, we got the table very quick. This is warung-style so do not expect an air conditioned room. Make sure you sit far from the barbecue corner if you do not want to return to the office with a smoky smell. Rice came first, then fried banana, and finally 5 portions of Sate in two big plates. Soooo yummy and sooooo mouthwatering. You are not expected to use the spoons here (although they are available)... use your hand instead. Since most of my friends were big guys with great apetite, I had to compete with them, but I was not worried at all. We had another 3 portions of meat and 1 portion of babat.

Perhaps because we were the crowd, all of a sudden, a cameraman caught us. He mentioned that he's from one of the TV station and would like to shoot us while we were eating. Sure, why not, we would be on TV and we did not have to do acting, just be ourselves, ha ha ha. Our Commander on Chief was interviewed as well. He got free drink for being interviewed because he told so many good things about the food. Oh, it was so much fun...... What made us happier was that Mas Igo paid all the food :)
