Having chatted
with the cook and the waiters in Warung Damai, we got the information that they came from Sangir Islands. Anyway, the food is no difference with Manadonese cuisine, because it is still in the same region. I would rate Kuah Asam Kerapu very good, and not only the taste, but also in terms of the price. One big bowl of Kuah Asam cost only Rp 10 K, the same
quantity in other Manadonese famous restaurant would cost more than Rp 50 K. What’s more amazing was the Selat Solo. With only Rp 8 K, we got the best Selat Solo that I’ve ne
ver had before; a perfect combination of potato fries, vegetables, three solid beef slices, the brown beef broth and the mustard. Pecel was good, too, although I still prefer the one from mbok-mbok in Pasar Blok A, but really not bad.
