I was glad to have the opportunity to meet my cousin in Bali. She took me to street vendors that sell
Nasi Pedes. Nasi Pedes is like Nasi Campur or Nasi Rames in Jakarta, but of course, this one is very very hot. Since I was warned about the sharp taste, I chose side dishes that did not look too peppery to go with the rice:
tumis kangkung,
ayam suwir,
mi goreng and
opor tahu. It did not sound harmful, didn’t it? I asked the lady not to mix the sambal with the rice, just put a little bit in the side. With those kinds of side dish and only small amount of sambal, I never ever thought that the taste of spicy would escalate from the first till the end! But it’s very good, it increased your appetite and made you want more and more…:) There are plenty of
Nasi Pedes lesehan in
Kuta, but one of the best is located in
Jalan Tuban near Polsek. Low price, Rp 19 K for two persons including 2 Teh Botol and 1 Aqua....
