Puncak Culinary Tour

Puncak Pass Beef Steak
Our journey to Puncak only has 1 mission – culinary tour! Fighting the traffic for about 1 hour before leaving the Ciawi toll gate and at the several stops on the way back was worthwhile for a portion of steak in Puncak Pass Hotel, an afternoon snack in Cimory Restaurant and an evening meal in Gumati Restaurant. The bonuses are great tea plantation scenery in Telaga Warna and an evening sleep at G&G house and a morning hiking to the paddy fields (hosh hosh hosh).
The signature dish in Puncak Pass Hotel was the beef steak. It was served with potato fried and vegetables. It was great, but let me remind you that their service was a bit poor during weekend/the time when there was many visitors. We had been at the same place few months before and the food had tasted better with a better service. Anyway, please be ready to pay for about IDR 150 K for steak and drink.

Our next stop was the Cimory Restaurant. There were two of this kind in Puncak. The one was located on your right if you drive from Puncak Pass, namely the mountain view. The one on your left was the river view. We visited the mountain view and ordered the yoghurt juice, some sausages and bought oleh-oleh as well. The yoghurt juice was too sweet, not recommended. The sausages were highly recommended, the best sausages I’d ever had so far. I could not recall how much we paid for all but it was not too expensive. Since we were quite full by this afternoon snack, everyone was less enthusiastic for dinner in Gumati Restaurant, but we still ordered some Sundanese dishes. It was a great time with great friends: Winta, Atin, Fenia a.k.a Pepen, Euis a.k.a Teteh J
