Pondok Wong Palembang

The group carried on its culinary tour last week by having lunch in Pondok Wong Palembang in Jalan Veteran I, next to Ragusa Ice Cream. This location was used by another Chinese restaurant before, but it did not survive.

Otak-otak was served for appetizer. Mbak Yus, Lela and Pak Simon liked it very much, especially the sauce. I myself thought Otak-otak in Pempek 161 was better. For main menu, some of us ordered Pindang with various choices: Ikan Patin, Ikan Baung, Iga Sapi. The others had Tekwan. All food was okay and not too costly. Pindang was about Rp. 25 K. Otak-otak Rp. 4 K per piece. I was planning to order Pempek, but no more space, I preferred a cup of nougat ice cream from the next building….
