Soto Haji Achri

A portion of Soto and rice
In my recent trip to Garut, we had the opportunity to have a local taste for our brunch. We tried out Soto Haji Achri in Jalan Mandalagiri Gg Harjo Garut, located in a mouth of a small gangway in the middle of local market.

Soto Haji Achri was cooked traditionally with the charcoals. The owner himself put together a bowl of soto, which consists of variety of beef, jeroan or kikil, kacang kedelai, daun bawang and bawang goreng. He would then pour the light coconut milk yellowish soup before it was ready to serve. The taste was close to Empal Gentong from Cirebon, but this one has a specific ingredient that make it different. I finished the soup and the rice and felt so peaceful afterwards :) Overall, it was a great dining experience in addition to the Astro the night before. Too bad I forgot to take photos when we were in Astro...... Thank you Mbak Yessy for the treat...
