Sosijak Siomay |
Do you think Sosijak is all about Sosis or Sausages? Sosijak actually stands for BakSO, SIomay and RuJAK. But they have more to offer besides good food, an exceptionally relaxing ambience - nice furniture, interesting decoration, great cleanliness - feels like home! Utilizing a not-so-big space since 6 months ago in Jalan Ahmad Dahlan in South Jakarta, it may attract several types of consumers, from families, groups of friends, even expatriates due to its coziness.
I would recommend you try their specialties which are Bakso, Siomay and Rujak. What makes them special - homemade, no preservatives, no MSG... soooo healthy combination. Even so, the tastes are still appetizing. We ordered noodle, siomay and rujak serut and no overleft remained from our order :) The noodle came with chicken topping, pangsit, and some vegetables including onion leaves. Bakso and soup was served in a smaller bowl. The siomay consists of siomay, tofu, cabbages and eggs, with the lemon half cut to be poured to the yummy nut sauce. Skin crackers were available if you wish. Rujak serut was for dessert and so fresh. We ordered Hot Tea (no refill) and Thai Ice Tea. All came in IDR 99,000, not so bad.
Great Ambience

The owners were friendly, they chatted with us and their efforts in opening this restaurant were so inspirational that Winta and I were instantly dreaming about having our own restaurant (right, Winta? hahahahhaa). Besides Bakso, Siomay and Rujak, we would like to try American Breakfast, Nasi Tim Ayam, Nasi Ijo + Ayam Goreng and Rujak Colek, which are also available in their menu, in our next visit.
